Impatience leads to anxiety!

We all have been impatient at some point in our lives and we keep being impatient when we await something important. Being impatient is a sign of weakness for it questions our own confidence. For example, if we remember that most of us used to be impatient before our exam results. Why were we so impatient when we already knew that we had given our exams and the results would not be very different than what we wrote. Still we kept pestering and burdening ourselves with unwanted thoughts about the result. What causes this impatience? Ever wondered why do we become so vulnerable before critical moments? Let us have a brief understanding on this.
Critical moments or important moments in our life are those that define either success or failure for us. These moments are categorically stored by our brains in the long-term memory. Hence, these critical moments carry the weightage and importance for our brain. This is the time when our brain needs a boost from an emotion that can handle the pressure of the so-called result and that's when anxiety emotion takes over our brain. Once anxiety takes over our brain, it becomes vary of all possible outcomes from positive to negative. Thinking about the positive outcome, we feel safe and secure; whereas thinking about the negative outcome, we start feeling panicked. Our brain starts preparing us for all sorts of results. However, while doing this it packs our brain with all possibilities for all sorts of results, whereas the result will only be one. This results in excessive load on the brain and may even give anxiety to individuals. Therefore, it is important to keep a tab on our thoughts. Don't let the unnecessary thoughts drift you away from reality. Train your mind to remain calm in the tense situations so that you don't get carried away in the panic state. Yoga and focus techniques might help you in achieving this. Hope this read helps you understand this correlation :)

The fascinating world of dreams

How many of you dream regularly? Or I should ask how many of you remember your dreams? I am sure very few! There are very few people who actually dream often and are also able to remember their dreams. However, the reality is that no one can actually remember more than 0.5% of their entire dream. Although, that 0.5% dream seems like their entire dream. Scientifically, we know that mostly dreams occur in REM stage of our sleep. REM stands for Rapid Eye Movement. It is a fact that we dream more vividly during our REM stage of sleep. But rarely, we may also dream during the non-REM sleep stage. However, these dreams are fragmented, short and generally not remembered.

Even the modern scientists are yet unable to prove as to what is the actual source for dreams and what is the purpose of dreaming. But science says that people who dream are also the ones who actually complete their sleep. Technically, you have had a deep sleep if you reach REM sleep stage once or multiple times. The sleep pattern differs according to the ages - the infants need to sleep 12-14 hours in a day, the teenagers need to sleep 8-10 hours a day whereas fully grown adults need to sleep 7-9 hours a day so as to stay healthy. The modern lifestyle has recently impacted the sleep pattern diminishing the sleep hours due to advent of technology and social media. Do you ever realise why the infants need to sleep 12-14 hours? It is because their brain is in the development stage and the neurons are getting connected to each other. This brain development activity happens at a faster rate only during the sleep and especially during the non-REM stage. Similarly, in teenagers and adults it is required for the wear and tear of the brain cells. Even the senior adults (60+ years of age) need adequate sleep to maintain the brain cell functionality. Although, the sleep pattern in older adults is lesser as compared to normal adults. They tend to sleep around 6 hours which is enough for them.

Let us talk about dreams now. So, what do you generally dream of? Is it something adventurous? Is it about beautiful sceneries or is it about nightmares? The dreams are our astral projections into non-physical realms of existence. Basically, it is a journey of our soul into dimensions not identified by the science yet. This is also a major reason for scientists not being able to research and prove the existence of dreams in our sleep. Another interesting feature about dreams is Lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming is a phenomenon where you are dreaming but are simultaneously aware that you are dreaming. Lucid dreaming also gives you an opportunity to take control over your dreams. Fascinating? Isn't it? Sometimes dreams also give you a Deja vu experience - something that you dream actually becomes a reality in your conscious life. Some people call it a psychic ability to foresee the future. All this sounds like a science fiction already, but it's a reality. We are a complex being composed of physical bodies and an innate life form called as soul that is governing the life in us. Our physical bodies are limited to the physical limitations in the observable world. But the innate life form called as soul has the ability to trave through dimensions and it keeps travelling before our life, after our life and somewhere in between our sleep. There are so many unexplained phenomenon happening in our lives that we do not have any clue of. I would love to know your experiences about dreams in the comments section below.

Sid's theory of post evolution dominance!

Well, to start with we all are familiar with the Darwin's theory of evolution which states that the strongest and the fittest will survive in this world. It is a mechanism of Darwin's 'Natural Selection' concept. Many could relate to this theory which also explains the extinction of the gigantic Dinosaurs from this planet Earth billions of years ago. This is all that we have read and it's the past of what has already happened. Evolution is a gradual process and it will continue to happen at it's own pace. But did we ever give it a thought as to what is happening to us in the present? It's time that I present you the newest theory in continuation to the Darwin's theory of Evolution - I call it my THEORY OF POST-EVOLUTION DOMINANCE!

"The toughest would survive,
but the smartest would dominate"

This theory explains the logical understanding of the existence of human species and their struggle to dominate over the inter-species on this planet! The struggle is not just among humans and other species, it has narrowed down to a struggle within their own species. Humans have always had a history of evolving into something better! Right from the 'Stone' age to this age of AI - 'Artificial Intelligence', humans have continually shown betterment in their way of living. In the stone age, we developed tools made from stone that helped make our lives easier, then came the age of metals, then the medieval age and then the industrial age, so on and so forth. We are now in the age of 'technology' where we are simultaneously working in different technologies at the same time. We have developed nanobots that could perform an entire operation in a human body, on the other hand we have developed spaceships that have traveled across our solar system. This is not all, the kind of technology we are working on will have an entire new species taking control over this planet, AI or maybe mutants (don't confuse it with the X-men series, although the thought is inspired from it). Well, all of this is just a possibility or a prediction, unless we act upon it and take control over our lives. Somewhere, we seem to have lost control of our lives.

Happiness is no longer meeting your friends and relatives. It is the more likes you get on your Facebook or Instagram profile. We are so much into this social media, that we longer care to go out, see and meet our fellow loved ones. Earlier, the birthday wishes were meant to be visiting their house and meeting them, if not that then calling up and sharing heart-felt birthday wishes. Now, it's just a whatsapp message with a ready-made cake smiley with few emoticons or not even that, maybe just a simple birthday wish over a common whatsapp group.

'The toughest would survive, but the smartest would dominate' - This is true in today's work scenario as well. We live in an age where hard work is paid less, and smart efficient work is paid more. Consider a construction laborer who works and slogs hard to earn a minuscule amount of wage to survive his family, and contrasting to this consider a fellow management person who supervises the laborers who tries to manage the cost of laborers to the minimum so as to complete the project with less manpower, thereby reducing the overall cost of the project. Well, many of you could certainly relate it to your own workplace? Right? The work of roughly 3-4 people will be burdened on a single person by the management under the disguise of extracting his/her full potential. Over a period of time, this has set a new trend for 'cost-saving' model. The upper-management or the business owners only see the financial numbers, nobody cares to see the actual suffering an employee has to go through when he is being burdened with the task which ideally requires 3-4 people. Nobody sees the struggle which an employee goes through in order to achieve the results and working more than his stipulated working hours. Only a selective few get to enjoy their work-life balance. Welcome to the age where money matters more over people!

Don't be scared or demotivated with the talks I shared, for it's the sad reality of today's world. But it's only us who can help bring a positive change about this. Do not let this 'Dominating' culture get over your personal life. Your life is completely yours to live and make the most of it. Do not lose your control to other people or technology for that matter. Make optimum use of technology, only to ease up your life and not to replace your life. Take time out for your family and friends. If you truly love them, make them feel loved. Live life like it's going to make up the future generations worth living!

Yours hypothetically,
Sid😎
